Terms of Service

1. Who these terms are with

These terms are an agreement between you and Sedonis (“Sedonis”, “we”, “us”), the operator of the Sedonis apps and websites. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 to use Sedonis. You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials, including your encryption passphrase, safe. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.

3. Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully. Don’t misuse it, attempt to break or probe its security, interfere with other users, use it to store or distribute unlawful content, or resell it without our permission. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

4. Your content

Your content is yours. You keep all rights to it. You grant us only the limited permission needed to host, sync and back up your content so we can run the service for you. Where your content is in the encrypted Vault, we can’t read it in any case. You’re responsible for the content you create and for having the right to store it.

5. Encryption and recovery

Vault content is end-to-end encrypted with a key derived from your passphrase. If you lose your passphrase and any recovery method you set up, we cannot recover that content. This is a deliberate security property, not a fault, and we make it clear when you set up.

6. Plans, payment and trials

• Free and paid (Pro) plans are described on our pricing page. One Sedonis account can use Sedonis Business and Sedonis Life, each with its own plan, billed separately.
• Where we offer a free trial of a Pro plan, you can cancel before it ends to avoid being charged.
• Paid plans renew automatically for the period you chose (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. You can cancel anytime, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe.

7. Cancellation, export and deletion

You can cancel a paid plan or close your account at any time. Your data stays yours: you can export it, and you can delete it. If you close your account, we handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep the service running, but it’s provided “as is” and “as available” while in active development. We may add, change or remove features, and we’ll give reasonable notice of material changes that affect you.

9. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, we’re not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Keep your own backups of anything important, including your passphrase.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England & Wales, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
