The problem with everything else
Monzo, Emma, most budgeting apps, most productivity tools — they aggregate your data on their servers, in plaintext. That’s how they show it back to you, and it’s also how they (or a breach, or a subpoena, or a future owner) can read it. You’re not the customer; your data is the product.
What we do instead
Sedonis is end-to-end encrypted. Your sensitive data is encrypted on your device, with a key derived from your passphrase that never leaves you. When it syncs, only ciphertext travels — meaningless without your key. We host the sealed box; we don’t have the key to it.

The honest trade-off
Because we can’t read your vault, we also can’t recover it if you lose your passphrase — that’s the point, and we make it clear when you set up. Some conveniences that rely on a company reading your data work differently here. We think that’s a trade worth making, and we let you choose it per scope.

Our business model is simple and old-fashioned: you pay us a fair price, we build you a great tool. There is no advertising business hiding underneath, because there’s nothing for us to read.
