Reselling profit calculator
Most calculators only work forwards: you already sold it, here is what you kept. This one also works backwards, which is the way you actually price. Say what you want to take home, and it gives you the number to list at on each marketplace, after that marketplace’s real fees.
11.9% final value fee + 0.35% regulatory operating fee + 30p per order (40p over £10).
Now the other way round
Tell it the profit you want. It prices the item per marketplace, after that marketplace’s fees.

- eBay · private sellerNo final value fee and no regulatory operating fee. £23.00 nothing to the marketplace

UK seller fees, read from each marketplace’s own pages on 5 October 2026. eBay business is worked at the clothes, shoes and accessories rate; other categories differ. Fees are on the item price, before any postage the buyer pays. Every fee model, with its source.
Marketplaces now report what their sellers earn to the tax authorities, once a year, by 31 January. In the EU that is the directive known as DAC7. In the UK it is a separate set of regulations that came in for 2024, built on the same OECD model rules, so the effect is the same either side of the Channel. In both, each platform leaves you out of its report only if, on that platform, you are under 30 sales and under about €2,000 (roughly £1,700) for the year, and you have to be under both. Being reported is not the same as owing tax, but it does mean the numbers you keep should match the numbers they send. More in do you pay tax on Vinted sales.
The number resellers get wrong
A £25 sale feels like £25. It is not. On an item that cost you £8, with a fee and postage, your real profit is what is left after all of it. Track that per item and you quickly learn what is worth sourcing again, and what to stop buying.
Fee models differ: Vinted takes nothing from the seller and charges the buyer for protection; eBay charges UK private sellers nothing and business sellers a fee by category; Depop charges only payment processing. Pick where it sold and the fee is worked out for you. More in Vinted fees and eBay fees.
